[Warning: swear words and ranting ahead.]
I’ve been checking out the photos and a few reviews for the new Zuka’s Elisabeth. You know, I’m quiet pissed.
I wasn’t excited before to see Sena Jun as Death, and I’m even less right now. Seeing her bored face in ALL the pictures made me bored about her as well. I appreciate Sena very much as an actress, but I have no fucking idea about what she is trying to do in this role.
Also, I was SO looking forward to seeing Kiriya Hiromu as Franz and the new Lucheni, specially after all the good comments I’ve heard about Ryuu Masaki – It seems she’s a real madman! -, but I guess I just can’t do it anymore. Not for Lucheni. Whatthehell did they do to her hair?! She’s a fucking FREAK! And I absolutely HATED the new costume design, specially the revue’s (check photo). Ohmygod, I guess there will be little to like in this new play, and I was so excited about it!

Nagina Ruumi and Sena Jun as Elisabeth and Death, respectively. Credits go to Daily.co.jp.
I’m gonna watch it anyway, it’s silly to judge a whole play by a few pictures. Still, I can’t hide my disappointment. My first impressions weren’t good.

Still on Takarazuka, Japan Times Online published a small FAQ about the theater this week. Of course it’s a very superficial article, and there’s little subtetly in it. You can go for it if you want brief answers about what it is, but there’s a lot about Takarazuka you can only know by experiencing it.
Anyway, it will do if you have no fucking idea about what Takarazuka means and want to know. Here’s the link.
