One of my biggest passions is the Japanese theater Takarazuka Kagekidan. It’s an all-female revue founded in 1913 by Kobayashi Ichizou (for more information, click here).

Due to a great difficulty to acquire Takarazuka’s goods in my country, I only recently managed to get copies of two versions of my favorite show, ‘Elisabeth’. The first one, my favorite, was performed by Hanagumi (Flower Troupe) in 2002, with Haruno Sumire on the role of Death and Ootori Rei as Elisabeth. The other one was performed by Tsukigumi (Moon Troupe) three years later, with Ayaki Nao and Sena Jun. I watched both of them several times and decided to make a few comments.
